...When I was at Velocity University in 2007, I met Ken M. Another brilliant builder. He and I began discussing ways to safely increase the fuel capacity in these airplanes. One of the ways we discussed was to change the angle that the strake intersects the wing. Normally, this is at 90 degrees off the main spar. This seems like it would make taking the wings off and putting them on again really tricky (not that I plan to do that much). It also would seem that opening this angle up would make the wing removal/re-installation process easier, and allow for some more fuel...However, there is an old engineering saying that basically goes "monkey with one thing, and you will be in the hot seat for a few other changes to accomodate that first change". Well, true....we had to extend the bulkhead...no problem...
