One of the many nice things about having Travis around from time to time is that he is a great builder, with great ideas and practical experience. Here is one of his better ideas (at least better than the idea to make squirrel and dumplings...YUK!) We recessed the skin in the upper strakes where the wheels touch when retracted. We then added 2 ply of BID to strengthen the area. this recess allows the weel to travel farther up into the strake. The result is that there is less drag, and the gear leg covers are much easier to install later...neat huh?
